Chasing is a method of cutting in multiple materials including reinforced concrete, mass poured concrete, brick and blockwork. ‘Chases’ are formed when two cuts are performed symmetrically to one another either horizontally or vertically at a depth and width specifically requested by the client, the remaining material in the middle of the two cuts is removed leaving a smooth and neat channel more commonly known as a ‘chase’ There is practically no limit to the width of them. But depths can vary from as little as 5mm to over 250mm deep.
