Hydraulic Demolition

What is Hydraulic Demolition?

Hydraulic demolition is a quiet and vibration-free method of demolition that is used to remove large mass poured and reinforced concrete structures including floor slabs, walls, columns, beams and heavy lumps of concrete for example sizable pieces of concrete that hold up hoarding or are used for barriers etc.

How does it work?

A series of holes are drilled, usually 48mm but can be holes sized up to 202mm may be cored depending on the amount needed to be removed also the thickness of the concrete in a diagonal sequence. Once the holes have been cored a hydraulic burster head will be placed inside each hole and will be expanded by hydraulic power, this will cause the concrete to crack and splay off any reinforcement.
